Frankly, I found it all hilarious. If a few of these people were to write about my place of business or my home, they could point out some absurdities there too.

But, Tom you are right. I did not see any of them report on one God encounter. That is not to say God was not there, but it sure opens up our eyes to what strangers would see and what they would miss.

It is interesting that the person who visited the Vineyard had no box for the intimacy of the worship lyrics other than sexual.Freedom Fighterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08080863898685325520noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24609948.post-72997818117826817732007-08-10T14:45:00.000-04:002007-08-10T14:45:00.000-04:00Wow! It also grieved my heart to realize how hard the hearts of people in general have become. I don't want to be another one of those people who don't love those whom God loves. These articles have given me more to think and pray about. Her encounter with God's power was in a neutral place, not surrounded by the imagery and sometimes irrelevant culture of church. Maybe the key is for us to be so saturated with the presence of God that we bring these encounters everywhere we go and not rely on them visiting our churches first. I have to admit, in almost any setting there will be something that offends: over-friendliness, lack of the same, music, pastoral views, pastoral voice, hairstyle, on and on............As always, your posts are undeniably thought provoking.
Don Moore,
The other side of the mountainsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24609948.post-54059861633415884182007-08-06T09:34:00.000-04:002007-08-06T09:34:00.000-04:00Granted the majority of these men and women went i...Granted the majority of these men and women went into these churches looking for something wrong. Some were just down right crude in their remarks. Even with that in mind only less than a handful out of 31 had positive experiences. That's very sad. Aren't these the people we want to reach? The mega churches seemed to have done the worse in the impression department.

So if one of these reporters walked into the Bridge what would have been his/her assessment? Good question to ask. Didn't you write a post about taking the log out of our own eye? I wonder if these churches read this article. What do suppose they are thinking? Are they dismissive or will they take a good look at it?

We'll have to talk more about this later. There is so much here.Nadinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01480908026387066960noreply@blogger.com
